Art and Hobby, Dundrum - demo FRIDAY

I'll also be demoing in The Art & Hobby Shop - Dundrum on Friday of this week (October 3rd) and would love to see some of my friends from the area. This time I'll be demoing Promarkers with Trimcraft Forget Me Not, Decomache and some Christmas cards.

Cardmaking and Papercraft Issue 136 November

Postie has just delivered the latest issue of Cardmaking & Papercraft Magazine - my commission for this issue (Issue 136, November) is little gift bags which I made with the Tonic Studios Tent Gift bag dies and insert dies. I'd love to stop right now and have a good read of the mag as there are so many super looking projects inside - but I'd never get anything else finished today.

Botanical Notes from Trimcraft

I had a delivery of the beautiful vintage style Botanical Notes paper pads fromTrimcraft (and Sail Away - but more of that to follow!) before I left at the weekend so I've made a distressed style card this morning using some of the lovely 6x6 bird themed papers from the pad along with one of the Dovecraft stamps and It's a Boy ribbon. These papers are due out in October.

I'll get a Sail Away one done later, hopefully:)

Butterfly Princess with Trellis Circle dies

I'm on a bit of a roll today with lots of things on my list already started, so before I get completely engrossed and buried under a mound of card and paper here's a card I made first thing this morning using te gorgeous new Tonic Studios Trellis Circle Base Die set with part of the Butterfly Princess  die set snipped out twice and added in the centre. I have added two Intrica Butterflies some glitter and a few pearls on top of the beautiful Trimcraft Bella Rose paper. The card I've used is white linen and ruby red from Papermill.

Thanks! Home from Castlebar :)

 Lough Gill, Sligo

I had a fantastic time at Mandels Art Shop, Castlebar on Saturday. The enthusiasm and interest of all who came along was amazing! Thanks so much to Nora for organising the day and to all who came along - and Yes! I'd love to come back - Thanks :)

The scenery en route to these demos is breathtaking.
Here are some photos taken at Lough Gill, Sligo and the last one is of Westport at night.

Another sample for Saturday's demo at Mandels Art Shop, Castlebar

I've been using lots of the gorgeous Trimcraft Christmas ranges to make sample cards for my demo at Mandels Art Shop, Castlebar, Co. Mayo (!) on Saturday. These papers twine and flowers are from the Back to Basics Modern range and I've used the Me To You A6 embossing folder with Copper Gilding wax rubbed on top.
The borders were punched with the Tonic Studios Gothic Border punch.

This effect was created by rubbing Lefranc and Bourgeois  "Cire A Dorer" Copper Gilding Wax over the embossed areas.

Intrica punch rosette card

If you like Clean and Simple style cards you might like to try this one..staying with white for the background and adding a pop of lilac with some lilac showing through from behind the Pansy Arch die cut shapes.
I've used the Intrica Pelmet Bow punch to make the rosette and added an Intrica butterfly on top.
The embossing folder which I used on t he inside is called Amelia.

New Silhouette Scene dies from Tonic Studios

The gorgeous new Tonic Studios Silhouette Scene dies will be launched this evening on Ideal World at 9.00pm - they work so well with lots of the existing Tonic dies. You'll have no shortage of ideas!
Although they are silhouette dies and I'd normally like to use them on monochrome cards I just love these papers and this style of card :)

It's a Girl pocket card

I just thought I'd post a photo of the It's  girl version of a previous card - I've used the Trimcraft - It's a Girl 12 x 12 papers to fold and make the pocket card and used the tag shapes which are on a page of the pad. The rosette was made from a 4cm strip of spotty paper from the same pad and I used ribbon from the It's a Girl range to coordinate it.

I'll have lots of samples and demo cards and hopefully will get a chance to post some more pics in the next day or two. I'd love to see some of you there.

Mannequin card

Hi...Here's a card I made last week using the mannequin die. I've made a little skirt from lace ribbon and glued it on top of a scalloped oval which I had embossed with the Roseanna embossing folder. The background was made with the Intrica Regal Strip punch and I've added a double Intrica butterfly on top.
The cream, kraft and white go really well together on a vintage style card :)

                                                                     How to make it

1. Mark 2.5cm from the outside edge of the card, the whole way round to form an inner square. With the fold of the card to the left, score along the top line but cut the other three with a craft knife/ trimmer. Then score and fold 1cm up from the bottom of the flap.

2. Add a strip of Perma Fix tape down both sides and attach a 13cm square of patterned paper to the centre of the inside.

3. Make a "mountain" fold half way down the flap.
This is how it should look now form above.
DO NOT STICK DOWN YET!

4. Punch/ cut a semi circle out of the top centre of the card.

5. Attach a piece of card measuring 13cm x 12.5cm to the inside of the flap (along the folded part). This piece should now be level with the top of the card. Now attach the front of the card to the back with the Perma fix tape.

6. Attach a piece of patterned paper across the front of the flap with double sided tape and add an adhesive topper on top.

7. Take a black doily and cut out the centre as shown, then fold in and glue to a circle of card.
Follow the photos and make another layer with a grey doily, Glue the smaller grey layer on top of the black layer.

8. Add paper blossoms and a fabric brad on top to make a flower and glue it to the front of the card.

9. Punch a hole in the centre of the piece of white card at the top Add a length of ribbon to "pull" the slider open with and add a bow below the punched semicircle.

Big 50

Hello! This is one of those cards which incorporates several different Tonic Studios dies etc...
I used the Ornate Elegance Header fold die to form the top of the card, and cut out the pattern in the centre with the Pop up Sentiment die then added a small Threaded Scalloped Circle die cut with the Big 50 from the pop up Sentiment die set.
I cut a square out of the pink card with the square layering dies before I embossed it with the Amelia A4 embossing folder.
I made the two flowers with the Rose, Pansy Punch and Stamp set and then added a double Intrica Butterfly.
A little spot or two of glitter and Liquid pearls and it's finished:)

Gift bag project from 12 x 12 paper - using Trimcraft Bella Rose papers

This is a tutorial on how to make a little gift bag from 12 x 12 designer papers.

I've used the beautiful Trimcraft Bella Rose 12 x 12 paper pad.

You'll need;
Trimcraft Bella Rose 12 x 12 paper pad
Trimcraft Bella Rose 6x6 paper pad
Dovecraft Back to Basics 111 Paper Blossoms
Dovecraft Back to Basics 111 Shaped Buttons
Dovecraft  It's a Girl Ribbon
Dovecraft Perma Fix Tape
Dovecraft Super Value Crafters Glue

How to make it

I made this template to show the score lines and cut lines.

1. Score and fold the piece of paper equally into three on all sides. Then cut off the corners from fold to fold.
This is the inside of the bag.

2.Score and fold from each corner of the centre square to the centre of each of the 4 outside edges as shown

3. On two opposite outside squares, find the centre point, score from this point to both corners of the centre square and also to the centre point on the outside edge of the same square.

4. Turn the "bag" over to expose the outside and add double sided tape as shown.

5. Use this tape to attach the sides of the bag together.
FRONT

SIDE

6. Cut a piece of paper from the 6x6 pad measuring 8cm x 9cm and score at 2.5cm on the 8cm side.

7. Add double sided tape to the inside narrow flap.

8. Attach to the top back of the bag.

9. Add a length of ribbon along the bottom of the flap with double sided tape , then glue flowers and button to the centre just below where the bottom of the flap would fit.

10. Make two holes 2cm in from the outside edge of the flap.

11. Thread a length of ribbon through the holes and glue the ends on the inside.
