Old Austin

Before I get to the card...I'm just reminding you about my PROMARKER GIVEAWAY..
It ends on Sat 25thSeptember.

Now to the card!
This is one I made for a lovely, elderly gentleman friend and I put a lot of thought into it.
I drew the Old Austin image especially for him and put his initials and year of birth on the number plate.
The maps are significant too as they show where he was born, educated and where he lives now so I highlighted those places with red gems. It certainly brought back a lot of memories when I gave him the card!!
Sometimes after I spend ages on a card it isn't what I intended but, for once, I am happy with how it turned out!
Places of note
Glossy accents on the glass and lights

I see, too, that it fits with the theme of this week's Cupcake Craft challenge which is Transport.
I can also enter it into A Spoonfull of Sugar ....anything goes
and Corrosive...unused stash....the maps which I've had for ages but not used yet

And another thing, I have now got a replacement Martha Stewart doily border punch and am very pleased with the service!!

New Puppy

It's pouring here in Northern Ireland today and the best place to be is in your craft room!
I've made another easel card  this time with my "new Puppy" digi image which is available from A Passion for Stamps. I didn't actually intend to use this image on a Christmas card but when I started to colour it I was drawn to reds and greens and picked out Papermania Jesse Edwards Boutique paper. Towards the end of the card I decided to add some snowflakes because I thought they would look well.
I've added some Papermania glitter glue to the collar and cuffs  and also to the snowflakes.
The background "frame" is the negative from a Marianne Creatables die cut  and the swirls are from the same set.
It's coloured with Promarkers and I used them to colour the gems too (ruby)
Close up of snowflakes
Promarkers used on this card

I'm entering it into the folowing challenges
Allsorts.... at least 3 punches
Fussy and fancy...Christmas colours
Alphabet challenge..U is for unused stash (Jesse Edwards paper)
Moving along with the Times.....Christmas

Don't forget to check out my PROMARKER GIVEAWAY in the post above. It will be open until 25th of September.

Kingfisher

I have quite a few cards to make for my own personal use at the moment and have been having a quick look through some of the challenge blogs for inspiration.
If you haven't already joined in some of the challenges over at Cupcake Inspirations you really should have a look to see what you're missing! This week's inspiration is a gorgeous cupcake with turquoise icing and little coral and pink 100's &1000's (is that what you call them?) so I thought of this idea.
Maybe you've already noticed that my Turquoise Promarker is one of my favourites and I really love it on my KINGFISHER image. I've used this image several times before for male card.
The challenge this fortnight at A Pocket full of Posies is to use floral paper and embellies so no problem there, then!
Everybody Art want to see handmade flowers too, so I'll enter that one, too!

Don't forget about the Promarker giveaway coming for followers!!

I was really chuffed to read this morning that my Coffee and Chocolates card has been featured as the "Shooting Star" on Papercraft  Planet!!

Strawberry jam

Continuing my "edible" theme....this card uses the new digi image "Strawberry Jam" from A Passion for Stamps.
Again I got carried away with the glitter and Glossy accents but I love the effect of these on top of Promarkers.
I'm trying to loose a few pounds at the moment and every time I try all I can think about is food so maybe that's why my latest images are on this theme..?
I had all the elements ready to put together but waited to see what the new week end challenges were so that it would suit a few and this is the result..

Sketch Saturday.... the sketch
Basic Grey...paper piecing. They are also having a DT call so I think I'll have a go at that too.
Oh, Alice.... sparkle
A Pocket full of Posies...winged things
Alphabet Challenge...S is for scallops
DareU2Digistamp....shaped card
Moving along with the Times...in stitches
One Stop Craft...photo inspiration(butterflies)
Paperplay...in stitches
I am a member of the "Anything but Cute " group on Papercraft Planet and this card is also for their LACE challenge!

and last, but definitely not least..... Merry's Letraset Aquamarkers and sticker store giveaway. Check this great giveaway out!! Your entry must contain a coloured image and sticker. Mine has two little butterfly stickers which I've stuck onto gingham paper to suit the card.

Don't forget I'll have a Promarker giveaway soon for followers of my blog!! More later..

Crafty Calendar Challenge time......box of chocs

It was my sister's birthday on Wednesday and she just loves chocolate so when I started to make my DT card for this month's Crafty Calendar Challenge  I just knew I should use one of the new digi images I added to my A Passion for Stamps range this week.
The challenge this month is to make a blue card with the optional extra of flowers. Blue is not one of my usual colours but flowers.....well, I never seem to make many cards without them!Check out the challenge and watch for next month's too as there is a little surprise in store..
The image is called "Box of chocolates" and is coloured with Promarkers and Glossy Accents for extra shine!
Because the card was actually from my mum to my sister I added some lace trims etc that I wouldn't have if I'd been sending it, but as far as I know, it went down a " treat ".

Don't forget I'll have a Promarker giveaway soon for followers of my blog!! More later..

Wednesday 1 September 2010

I've used my new Cuttlebug corners again and the image is coloured with Promarkers (again!!)

Talking of PROMARKERS........I'll soon be adding details of a  PROMARKER GIVEAWAY available to followers of my blog, so please keep an eye on this!!

I've been having trouble for a long time with my Martha Stewart doily border punch and have been in touch with MS tonight and have been pleasantly surprised so far with the prompt reply. I'll let you know how I get on with this
